The mission of Help One Child is to recruit, train, and support married couples or single adults willing to provide a home or volunteer services for foster children. Help One Child is a non-profit, non-denominational, local outreach to at-risk children in the foster care system. As opposed to a fundraising program, Help One Child is a hands-on Christian ministry and has been embraced by over 400 churches in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties since 1993.

There are more than 80 families in the Help One Child network, parenting approximately 175 foster children. More than 450 volunteers provide services to the families and children and ministry support to Help One Child.
